Panel, Hagioi Anargyroi Kolokynthi
Area: Byzantine and Christian Museum, Athens Date: 10th-11th century
Description: Marble panel with relief decoration. A rampant cross under an arch, which is supported on colonettes with inherent capitals, is depicted. A tress with four-leaved palmettes is developed on the arch, while the capitals bear ornaments with rosettes. Rosettes and cypress trees are shown in the cross-arms. It comes from Hagioi Anargyroi in Athens and it is dated to the tenth – eleventh century A.D.
