Cloisonne masonry: Characteristic and elaborate church masonry style of the Helladic school. Four-sided stones – usually porous stones – are framed by thin, red bricks, the plinths. Masonry made entirely out of plinths (with the typical red color) is encountered in Constantinople. When met in Greek churches (Hosios Loukas in Phocis), it is considered influence from Constantinople.
