Marble panel with relief decoration. A lion that is tearing up a deer is surrounded by palmettes on the four corners. The representation that symbolizes the constant struggle and superiority of the good against the evil is noticeable for its dynamism, expressiveness and high technical quality. It comes from Athens and it was formerly part of the Thisseion Collection. It is dated to the end of the tenth and the beginning of the eleventh century A.D.
