Description: Marble pilaster-capital. A deer on high-relief is shown on the background, which is covered with tendrils and half-leaves. The animal’s motion is graceful and expressive. The careful ornamentation is on a two-level-relief. It comes from Athens and it was formerly part of the Thisseion Collection. It is dated to the twelfth century A.D.
