Description:
Marble fragment of an epistyle. On its skew-cut side the ornamentation is on a two-leveled relief. A bird pecking its body and a “button” with a floriated cross are carved in a high-relief. The background is covered with a winding tendril with half-leaves in a low-relief. The following inscription has been carved in the border of the epistyle: OC PHILOSOPHOS Tou PIKLIN E(tous)…6713=1205. It comes from the monastery of Hagios Ioannis in Hymettus.
