Paraskevi, Hagia, Panakton

Area: Panakton
Type:
Date: 12th century screen

Description:

The small church lies in the cemetery of the small village Panakton. It is a barrel-vaulted single naved church, which has suffered considerable damages, built during the years of the Turkish domination. However, fragments of the marble screen that are incorporated into the more recent built screen make this small church interesting. Based on the artistic decoration, these well preserved fragments lead us to the conclusion that the screen where they come from is dated to the 12th century.
