Description:
The church of Hagios Nikolaos is located in the cemetery in Kalamos outside the village. It is cross-vaulted dated to the 13th century built on an older church, according to excavations. It is not an elegant church, built with rubble stone lacking ceramic ornaments and dentil courses. From the interior wall paintings are only preserved fragments from the roof, mainly saints and angels’ faces. Most of them have been already removed and are displayed in the Athens Byzantine and Christian Museum.
