Thomas, Hagios, Tanagra

Area: Tanagra
Type: Cross-in-Square
Date: 11th - 12th century

Description:

The church is situated approximately 3,5 km. north of the village Hagios Thomas, on the right river bank of Assopos and close to ancient Tanagra.

It is a simple, two-columned, cross-in-square church with no narthex dated to the middle Byzantine period (probably to the 11th – 12th century, according to Pr. Bouras).

Nowadays, it has suffered many damages.

The interior wall paintings are recent.
