Georgios, Hagios, Kadi

Area: Kadi, Markopoulon
Type: Single - Aisled Basilica
Date: Byzantine phase

Description:

The church is situated in Markopoulo near Dagla hill along with the early Christian and medieval ruins as well as the church of Taxiarchis with the preserved wall paintings. Nowadays, its exterior façade has suffered damages and hence its Byzantine character is not detectable. However, it is an indisputable fact that such a phase exists and that Byzantine wall paintings are preserved in its interior. Nevertheless, they have not been studied yet.
